Braun took part in the air combat action during: Invasion of Poland, Battle of France, Battle of Britain, Balkans Campaign, Battle of Crete, North African Campaign and the Kurland Pocket. Because of his personal bravery, he was awarded the German Cross in Gold. And because of his personal extreme bravery and successful military leadership in combat, he was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. This signed photo is a copy of an actual period photo.
