As found in a storage room in pre-Civil War antebellum Maine family farm house. Victorians treated their kids as little adults, and most toys were miniature versions of the real thing. Here is an amazing miniature replica of what were real Victorian bureau styles. What a grand find! Intact, solid wood, Notice the hand sawn marks? Wonderful handcrafted toy! See pictures. We think this was made to pass the time and keep busy by a farmer or fisherman who was homebound in winter The 2 Drawers open and close fine, one discovery: a cut piece of newspaper dated for 1896 that lines one drawer with a split bottom... well faded and age discolored, but still very readable. Fascinating! Expect wear and finish chipping, wear, dings, scratches, dust in the nooks and crannies, soiling from decades of storage, all typical and commensurate with the age of this darling dresser! Some of the joints would benefit from sure-ing up --- There is a front foot triangle missing, if we find it, we will send it along to new owner. Size: appx 8" x 9" x 5" We believe it will work for American Girl and other 18" dolls. Better for older children who understand history, or for display!!!
