Vtg Original WW2 USAAF Type A-2 Flight Jacket 42 Aero Leather Clothing Co 21996

Description: For sale is an original WW2 A2 flight jacket. Label is missing, but it's clearly made by Aero Leather Clothing Co, contract W535-AC-21996, size 42 with a M41 Talon nickel zipper. Jacket was depot refurbished in the 50s to a Korean War pilot during which the knits were replaced and the jacket was re-dyed and USAF decal applied. You can see faint stitch holes for the original leather name tag and rank on the epaulets. No other ghost stitch marks appear. There are spots of the leather dye on the zipper tape and knits in areas. The original zipper is fully functional and works smoothly. The male zipper side was unstitched to get access to replace the knits. The female side of the zipper has most of the original stitching in place, except for a small part near the waistband. Leather is in excellent condition and is soft and pliable with no damages other than minor surface dye missing in spots. Knits have scattered moth bites, which could technically be hand darned, but I've left as found. Ready to wear as-is. I wear a size 38 in vintage, and this is a nice relaxed fit Approximate measurements 18" - shoulder22" - armpit to armpit25" - outer edge sleeve to cuff23.75" - back length (base of collar to hem)
