Vtg 1962 Madame Alexander re-dressed 8” Black Hair chignon Wendykins Wendy Doll

Description: ~~~...~~~~~...~~~~~..~~~~~~..~~~~~ Another doll from my late Mom's doll collection.I do not collect dolls from this Era and my Mom did not leave many notes, so I've tried to research her dolls via Doll Reference books and some Alexander Facebook Groups. I've taken many photos for you. I hope my Description helps...DESCRIPTION:.Cute Wendy-kins from around 1962. She is marked ALEX on her back. She has the BIG CHESTNUT BROWN EYES and chubby cheeks from the early 1960's Alexander Era. To me, she looks like a little Fairy. . HER BODY: This doll has a TODDLER BODY (ie: a chubby tummy, STRAIGHT TODDLER LEGS, non walker). She can pose in all sorts of position---like a toddler..MORE about Wendy: She has a very pale coloring throughout, with rosey cheeks. Her lips are coral and pouty. Her hair is BLACK, in a "chignon", so maybe she was a Ballerina or a character from The Little Women in her past life (before she decided to become the shown "fairy" in purple)..HER HAIR= Her black hair is in a CHIGNON pulled back with little curls in back and nice bangs. She has some fly-aways, therefore I've added a bit of hair Gel to keep the flying hairs in place, but when she arrives (once sold) she may need a refresher with more Gel.. HER OUTFIT: The outfit this doll is wearing in a puzzler. It is not labeled, and certainly NOT an ALEXANDER outfit. But it is unique and from analyzing the way it's made, it was MANUFACTURED in the late 50s' or early 60's. (Is it a VIRGA outfit??).It is PURPLE, and made of a stiff ORGANZA, with little fuzzy polka dots throughout. It has Matching panties. SILVER rick-racks were used as trim, around the collar & dress bottom. The waist has a silver "belt" that ties in back. This thin belt is worn in some places but still works and look nice on the front. (SEE PHOTOS). She has on a silver bow in her chignon. .THE SHOES= Unique shoes. Never seen another pair like these before, since they are super TINY and nicely made. They are SLIP-ONS with gros-grain trim around the edges. Note that the satin ribbons around her ankles are not part of the shoes but simply "ribbons around her ankles"--- probably added as decorations.
