Description: This sweet little pair of handpainted chalkware face wall plaques from the 1940's depict a traditional Dutch boy with his blond hair and blue cap, and a milk maid girl with a traditional hat covering her blond hair. She has braids made of actual yarn. Their eyes are finely painted in the art deco style. They are nicely hand painted with a matte finish. They are very smooth to the touch. The faces are in nice condition without chips or cracks. There are a couple of small spots of paint loss and wear to the yarn braids, as seen in the photos. He measures about 3" tall x 2-1/2" wide. She measures about 5" tall (including her braids) x 4-1/2" wide. Both have wire loops for hanging on the wall. Zoom in on photos for better detail and measurements.
