She wakes up restrained in Stroika’s genetic enhancement device which is powered by the Chernobyl reactor. He boasts how he selected candidates from the Soviet population and mutated them with the device, but in 1986 it overloaded, causing the Chernobyl disaster. The Soviet government shut down his program, court-martialed him, and imprisoned him. Stroika had killed Vogue’s father for trying to stop him. He activates the device, seemingly killing Vogue, and orders Redblood member Warfare to dispose of her. Stroika and the rest of Redblood then fly away. Vogue wakes up and breaks free of her restraints, realizing the device has given her superhuman strength. Warfare attacks her, and she recognizes him as her brother Dmitri. As they fight, she explains she is his sister, but he refuses to believe her having been brainwashed by Stroika. Finally, she tells him that Stroika murdered their father and calls him by his childhood nickname. Enraged, he releases a massive nuclear pulse with his powers until he realizes she is telling the truth and then collapses in her arms. Holding him, Vogue vows revenge on Stroika.
