Description: 1972 Curtis Jere’ brutalist “Rainy Day in the Park” metal sculpture. Composed of welded brass, copper, and other metals. Truly a unique a beautiful piece of work with groups of people gathered under umbrellas in the rain. There are trees and light posts in the background. Some of the people have been painted. Great condition. Was available and sold on 1stDibs for over $4000. A wonderful piece for the lucky purchaser. Founding artists Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels, combined parts of their own names to create the C. Jeré signature for the company which was founded in 1963. Some of the older techniques, such as enameling, using resin, and the bronzes, haven't been used in decades.
