Vintage Rebuilt THM 400 & 4L80E Front Planetary Carrier w/Straight Cut Gears

Description: This auction is for a clean professionally rebuilt/reman vintage THM 400 and 4L80E front planetary carrier with straight cut gears. I have downsized into a sole proprietorship after 40 years in the transmission industry, freeing up a bunch of odds and ends, "gizmos & gadgets" that I've held on to over the years. Hopefully these pieces will help in your restoration(s) or projects. This is an honest example rebuilt vintage THM 400 input or front planetary carrier. This boasts the durable straight cut pinions/gears. These were offered on the 3500 series 400's to fit commercial trucks and motor homes. Currently, these planetaries have become a "go-to" for the racing and 4X4 trucker communities. This planetary carrier fits all THM 400's with straight cut gears and 1991 to 1997 4L80E's with straight cut gears. This planetary has been rebuilt with double steel washers. The housing gears, pins and rollers were inspected for defects. The band surface has been lathe prepped with 80 grit crocus cloth. The pins have been re-staked and machined below the washer surface. I highly recommend using a plastic-type (supplied) washer on rebuilt planetaries, as they are forgiving, where metal washers sometimes will create an irregular surface wear. The bushing is original and has been polished. Replacing the bushing is subjective to the rebuilder. There are some insignificant dinks, scratches and old oxidation spots to be expected from an older component, but not to affect the functionality in any way.
