Description: Vintage RARE RETRO General Electric Portable Cabinet AM Radio Model P-871A HEAVY, not much plastic in this old beauty. The radio alone weighs 3lbs. 4oz.! Very stylish with a retro look and feel to it. The perfect addition to your early 60's car show! It will be shipped in a USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box with a lot of protection. It runs on three C size batteries (not included), has an external antenna connection and what looks to be an earphone plug on the side but it is not marked.The tuning dial is stuck all the way to one side so that will need to be fixed. I tested it with batteries (not included) and I was able to hear a station so it appears to be working but with a stuck tuner dial, I can't say for certain. The volume/on/off dial works. The antenna is built into the handle and the handle swivels around to both sides and is firmly attached. It has a built in clip to attach it to a cabinet I believe. RadioMuseum.org dates this to around 1962 and indicates it has 8 transistors.OLD, USED, WORKS. Tuning dial stuck at end and will need to be fixed, really good condition otherwise.
