Vintage Pyrex 1940s Primary Colors Mixing Bowl #404 Yellow and #402Red

Description: Add a splash of color to your kitchen with this vintage Pyrex mixing bowl set. The set includes a yellow #404 and red #402 bowl, both with a glossy finish. These mid-century modern bowls are made of Borosilicate Glass and are perfect for mixing ingredients or serving a salad. The workhorse of the mid century kitchen theses bowls are from the 50's.. The backstamps are unnumbered and label reads TRADE MARK and PYREX is spelled in all Caps. This indicate that these bowls were manufactured prior to the company switching to a soda lime glass which was in the early 50's. Previous to that it was Borosilicate glass that was better able to withstand temperature changes. These bowls are in really nice condition considering their age and kitchen utility. The yellow bowl is nice and shiny and has very few marks on it and no discoloration or scrapes inside. I have a close up pic listed zoom in and check it out.The red bowl is pristine inside and the exterior red color is very nice as well. The red bowl is typically the one that is hardest to find with no exterior issues. I noticed that if you shine a light on the center interior of the bowl you can easily see all the tiny scrapes and scratches and wear marks. I have also included a close up with no interior light and as you can see its a whole different story. Again it is bright red and shiny. I think that the red color just doesn't wear as well or maybe this particular size is the ones that is used the most.Either way this one is very nice.
