It requires a max 60w light bulb (not included). Due to age, the glue on the bottom fabric trim no longer holds the original lamp-shade in place and it affects about 1/3 of the ring (see pic). On display, you can turn the shade so this area faces the wall and you won't notice it. I would not use any liquid glues because this may stain or eventually discolor the material.
