Description: This is a rare (to my searches) colorway for a Gucci umbrella or parasol. The colorway was and is available in bags and other goods, so the umbrella/parasol could complete a coordinated collection of the period. Made with a squared off painted wood handle and high-quality, fine cotton canvas and a robust shoulder strap of navy blue, soft braided rope, this 31" long umbrella (measured closed from end to end) seems to be from the 1980s, since Gucci didn't get the S.p.A. designation which shows up on the label (S.p.A. indicates a publicly traded Italian corporation) until 1982. The umbrella/parasol is in great vintage condition; the stitching is all tight (there's one place where the folding under came loose but the stitching is still there holding the red ribbon in place -- please see photo). There is also a slight general yellowing of the white section along the folds, probably from storage (please see photos). No egregious stains. And finally there is a substantial chip off the bottom coating of the squared-off wood handle (please see photo). Would be easy to fix if desired, but the wood itself is not affected. I'm selling this as-is, since it's not brand new. I'll ship out the first business day (which doesn't include weekends) after cleared payment.
