Description: For sale is a antique Collins USA Homestead carpenters hatchet, weighing 1lbs. 6.4 ounces overall, with handle Signed "Homestead", the head measures 6-1/8" long with a 3" wide edge, a 1-1/8" wide X 1-3/16" tall octagonal face. The edge is excellent, and will respond well to honing and sharpening by a experienced hand, but the face shows heavy use and wear, with some splaying, all as shown in the 12th-14th pictures. The 12-3/16" handle is sound, but with nails down through the top, and with a slight "wobble" which will need to be addressed.
