Description: Up for purchase is a green Depression luncheon plate in the Spiral pattern produced by Anchor Hocking from 1928-1930. It measures 8” in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and little, if any, signs of use. Uranium glass contains from about 0.25% to 2% uranium as a color pigment. A popular brand of uranium glass is Vaseline glass. So named because in ordinary light it has approximately the color of Vaseline. Under black light it fluoresces bright green. It is slightly radioactive but is completely safe. These plate can glow more brightly but my UV flashlight is not good.They came from a local estate sale.In buying vintage, you will find minor scratches, scuffs, different colored, patina or other 'evidence' of the items previous use. The Depression Glass typically has a bubbles, paints and other fabric defects - they is not damages, they are features.
