vintage 1964 Hasbro GI Joe 12" Action Soldier / box JAPAN VARIANT toy COMPLETE !

Description: Original vintage Hasbro G.I. Joe 12" figure with Outfit #609 "Action Soldier With Wireless Telephone"; COMPLETE with Japanese Rare SOFUBI BOOTS.The painted head doll shows some paint wear on the hair and eyebrows. The body of the doll shows some wear, with a cracks on the knees, as well as thighs. Despite the wear, the Joe can still hold poses. This outfit is the Japanese outfit #609 Action Soldier with Telephone. This outfit and numbering can be seen in examples of Japanese G.I. Joe toy catalogs. This figure includes the extremely hard to find Japanese G.I. Joe pack in catalog. The figure also includes some of the original stickers! These stickers are discolored due to age and moisture damage, and are extremely fragile, care is advised when handling. The made in Japan olive drab shirt shows some general surface wear. The matching pants show staining on the inseam as well as on the lower legs. The helmet is BROKEN missing the plastic hitch, and the elastic strap is affixed to the interior of the helmet with vintage tape. The figure includes Japanese exclusive "Sofubi Boots". These boots were paired with early G.I. joe figures sold exclusively in the Japanese market. These boots are made of a thinner, soft rubbery material and are a distinctly different sculpt from the American issue G.I. Joe tall rubber boots. The material and style of boot are similar to Japanese soft vinyl (sofubi) toys of the era. The molding and slight height difference are noted in the 3rd picture in the listing (American tall brown rubber boot is NOT included with this figure). As the boots are made of a different material compared to their American counterparts; they age differently; resulting a slightly oily brown residue, this can stain G.I. Joe clothing after long periods of exposure as seen on the pants of this figure. Overall a great G.I. Joe action soldier to add to any 12" collection!See pics for details.
