Vintage 1950s~60s Peplum Party Cocktail Dress Black & White Checkers Joan Lee NY

Description: Vintage 1950's-1960's Ladies Peplum Black & White Checkered Dress ~ Joan Lee of New YorkOverall very nice condition but needs a little repair. There is a separation/tear at the one armpit (photo 13 & 14) and a few inches from that spot is another area where the stitching came apart about 1 inch (photo 15). There is one layer of white tulle under the overlay skirt and there is 1 tear in the tulle (photo 20). I also notice where the zipper is I'm not sure if that discoloration is a bleed/run from the black zipper underneath the material (photo 11 & 12). It's honestly not very noticeable but wanted to point it out. There are no actual stains or marks on the dress. Still nice vivid coloring. See photo for some measurements. Length of dress from top of shoulder to bottom hem is 40". If I had to take a guess I would say this is a size S/M.Weighs 12 ounces (prior to packaging) Very lightweight dress.NOTE: We normally do not do vintage clothing but this particular dress belonged to a deceased family member who took exceptionally good care of her clothing. It is from a smokefree pet free home. This was stored away in one of her closest. Has no bad smells. We buy most of our pieces at auctions & Flea Markets, so we may not know the history of the item.
