Description: Presented is a very nice English sterling silver coffeepot. It was made by English silverworkers James Henry & Herbert Barraclough in London in 1940. The coffeepot has gently curved, elegant lines and a high finish. The finial is removable. The finial and handle are composition or bakelite and are original to the piece. The piece has never been monogrammed and is waiting to be presented. The coffeepot is marked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for London, the date letter E for 1940, the initials JHB over HB for James Henry & Herbert Barraclough, and the Z.Barraclough & Sons for the retailer in Leeds. The underside of the lid is also marked with the lion passant and leopard's head. The condition is excellent. The hinge is in great working order and the handle is tight. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs. The coffee pot measures 7 1/4 inches from handle to spout and about 6 1/2 inches tall, and it has a capacity of about 800 milliliters or about 28 ounces.
