Description: Vintage 1920's Copeland Spode "Wicker Lane" (Basket Weave) Dinnerware. A large selection of pieces is available' see list below. Description: Reminiscent of early porcelain creamware these have a Embossed Basket Weave Pattern, Floral, Scalloped Rim, No Trim. Made in England. This Pattern is discontinued; according to Replacements, Ltd. this pattern was active from 1933 until 1969 (see below). The pieces have a standard printed mark found on Copeland Spode earthenware, from c.1891 into the 20th C. From 1890 onwards the name of SPODE was introduced to the marks. This was used with and without the name COPELAND. "England" was below the mark, and these piece also have the pattern name of "WICKER LANE". Spode china also has date codes indicating the date of manufacture. These codes are impressed into the back of the piece as a letter over a number and can often be difficult to read. However, several of the pieces I have in this listing are obviously stamped with 'F over 25' and 'M over 25'. Those are indicators of manufacturing dates of February 1925 and March 1925, respectively. Obviously, this pre-dates the Replacements Ltd.'s records. CONDITION: Excellent near antique overall condition. No chips or cracks are on any of the pieces, except small flea bite chips to the soles of a couple of items. Light crazing and utensil marks exist on some pieces. Moderate shelf wear as expected for the age of these pieces. Any major flaws are described in the item details below.
