Description: For sale here is a great looking US Pre WW2 Army Officer's Mess Dress Tuxedo Uniform Jacket. This beautiful jacket is dated September 1938 and is named to Lieutenant Colonel L. M. Weaver. I have not done any research on Weaver, but it would be easy to assume that he would have attained a higher rank in the war. From what i can see, Weaver would have been in Artillery based on the red piping. This is a great looking jacket with extremely long tails. The jacket has 4 lines of gold bullion rank and a bullion and red Artillery branch stripe on the cuff. The bullion does show some toning. All of the buttons are present and in great condition. The jacket is made of fine doeskin wool that is in excellent condition with no mothing or issues beyond light storage soiling. Inside, the jacket is lined in black satin and has an A. Jacobs & Son Baltimore MD tailor tag. The jacket is nicely named and dated to Weaver. The jacket lining does have some tearing at the armpits. The jacket does not have shoulder boards, but these can be found. This is a real beauty worthy of further research.
