Description: An extremely unusual and rare lightning rod bayonet finial, 3 sided. This one was made to screw to a smaller 5/8-inch star rod. Flared base is also unusual. Not easy to find one like this. No marking. Bayonet is 10.25" long and has 7/16" threads. 99.9% of finial bayonets screw to the larger star rod. Verdigris and patina as you can see, with natural weathering. Has slight bend in tip, possible lightning strike. Comes with original copper clad 5/8-inch star rod, 28 inches long. Copper cladding has seen better days. No bottom coupling as the rod was cut off a roof when it was salvaged.
