Description: This print is from a rare portfolio of high quality photogravure prints of the University of Illinois dating from about 1917. This image depicts the New Auditorium, later renamed the Foelinger Auditorium. The new Auditorium was designed by Bostonian architect Clarence H. Blackall, a University of Illinois graduate of 1877. The photogravure process yields prints with very smooth tones and lots of detail, without the halftone dot pattern of modern printing methods. This would look wonderful framed. This incredibly beautiful photogravure is single-sided and on thick paper. It has a blank back. The page measures approx. 6.75 x 4.75 inches, and the actual image area is about 3.6 x 5.5 inches.
