Ivan Aivazovsky was born in Crimea, in Feodosia. He spent all his childhood near the sea, which constantly attracted him. Therefore, his work is mainly devoted to the sea, but there are many paintings with Ukrainian motifs, which depict the Dnieper, steppe, Chumaki, wedding scenes. On the obverse of the coin there is at the top is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription УКРАЇНА, a stylized piece of the painting by I.
