Description: Here is a matching pair of vintage Bistro Plates from Bennington Potters, the pottery studio founded in 1948 in Vermont by the world-renowned Mid-Century Modern art-pottery pioneer, David Gil. Both these oval shaped plates have a matte-black exterior glaze with shiny white interior glaze, and both have an unusual loop handle. The bottom is unglazed with an impressed backstamp showing pattern number 1897 (this is not a date) and studio ID information. The plates are 8 inches long and 8.5 inches wide with handle. Condition is excellent, pre-owned, with no chips, cracks or crazing. We at ThriftSongABQ want you to be satisfied with every purchase that you make from us.
