Description: For sale is the very RARE First Edition, hard cover book The Small Golden Shrine From The Tomb of Tutankhaumun. By M. Easton-Krauss and E. Graefe. 1985 Griffith Institute. The small golden shrine found by Howard Carter in the Antechamber of Tutankhamun's tomb is one of the most spectacular and thematically interesting objects buried with the king. It is made of wood overlaid with gesso and covered with gold sheeting. This book belonged to my parent's (mainly my father) who were scholars of Egyptology. They had enough books about Ancient Egypt to fill The British Library. I've begun to go through to sell, donate, discard, etc. Many more books will be listed on Ebay soon. Has original Blue Hard Cover and dust jacket. It is in great condition. The spine/binding of the book is very tight. Unsure if it's actually been read, if so my father was very very careful with it. Pages have no fold overs. The dust cover has no rips. There are some surface wear on the dust cover and book has area back which is lighter (on bottom). The outer edges of the pages have some yellow. According to google this is called lignin oxidation, exposure to oxygen. Please see photos for imperfections and please email with any questions. See pictures for condition.
