Description: SUPER RARE Vintage Extra Large 4.5”/ 115mm King - Lardy Chess Set, with Original Box Huge Lardy Wooden chess set in great condition. Pieces are in excellent condition, No hairline cracks or chips, minimal wear. This is a remarkably large sized and nicely weighted lardy. Total weight of the pieces around 3.5 pounds! Knights are hand carved with nice detail and teeth with wide bases, thick heavy weighted rooks. Made with natural boxwood and the other side is stained black boxwood, lacquered varnish. Very nice, distinctive Chess Set. Circa 1960s Made in France Complete set of 32 pieces King height 4.5 inches All weights and felts are present in great CLEAN condition. Several pieces have loose weights. Some paint/varnish peeling in some black pieces, very minimal (not in the wood) PLEASE SEE PICTURES Please observe pictures carefully or ask questions. The original box is in good vintage condition, some scratches and dings, there is more wear on top of the box.
