Description: This is an early Gorham Sterling spoon with the age date letter "D" on the spoon bowl, giving it the date 1871. The pattern is LANCASTER. It is monogrammed with a script "M" and another letter, perhaps "C" or "E". Please see the pictures of this early series of 3 hallmarks and the D on the reverse. Spoon is 6" long. Nice condition with some tarnish and scratching from use! Weight is 22 grams. It is a nice addition to an early Gorham collection!
