Description: For sale is a demitasse or espresso cup and coupe saucer by Copeland Spode in the Gainsborough pattern. The small cup is decorated with a variety of floral studies developed by Spode artists including a yellow spray on the interior just below the rim. The Marlborough shape coupe shape saucer has an embossed rim with slight scallop edge and features the same flowers on cup with a bunch of large red, blue and yellow blooms in the center well. Both pieces are in very good condition with the exception of a fleabite chip on the rim of the cup (photograph 16) and light shelf wear.They do not have visible crazing when dry. Both pieces are marked on the bottom in brown for Copeland Spode Great Britain including pattern name.
