This system is comparable to $20K HDC2500 systems. The CA4000 works with the BPU4000 Baseband Processor Unit to route 4K signals from the PMW-F55 camera. With the BPU4000, the 4K/HD image quality is comparable to that of the HDC Series system cameras and allows for HDCU-2000/2500 Camera Control Unit (CCU) operation. The camera supports High Frame Rate (HFR) recordings up to 240 frames per second at 1080/50p. The CA4000 provides the same interface as the HDC-2500 for the camera operator, including RET, INTERCOM, and MENU controls. The BPU4000 can be powered independently, without the need for the HDC-2000/2500 CCU. Both 4K output and down-converted HD output are available from the BPU4000. Included with the camera is an original Sony DVF-EL100 OLED Color Viewfinder and a V-mount battery, in case you want to use the camera as a regular cinema camera.
