Description: A beautiful Ganesha amulet from Nepal I brought the beautiful pendant with me from my trip to Nepal. It was traditionally made there by hand. It is a rare piece, I bought a few of these amulets at a market in Patan near Kathmandu in Nepal. Depicted is probably the most beloved god in the Hindu pantheon, Ganesha, the elephant-headed god worshiped by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains alike. He is seen as the son of Shiva and Parvati. Ganesha is the one God of wisdom, the bringer of happiness and the remover of all obstacles. Before starting a journey, a ritual or an important undertaking, Ganesha is always invoked and worshiped first. The pendant was lovingly made by hand. The material is solid brass, Ganesha is very fine, rich in detail and heavy! The beautiful Ganesha is covered with genuine yak leather for protection. The leather cord is traditionally hand cut and is also made from yak.
