The exterior has some light scrapes along the leading edges and corners, plus a couple on the front side of the upper top. The hinges are intact and the top opens and closes smoothly. The latches are functional. The metal finish remains intact and shows no sign of patina coloring. The wood stain finish is Very Good Plus - Fine. The top of the box has the Smith and Wesson logo debossed into the wood along with "50th ANNIVERSARY / SMITH & WESSON / 1956-2006 / .44 MAGNUM". The interior top has a piece of foam with flocking. The flocking is intact and shows no signs of unusual wear. There are no rips and tears in the foam and the coloring is pristine. The bottom interior appears to be a form fitted mold for a 6" barrel revolver with a velvet cloth cover. We cannot verify the material below because the cloth is glued on tightly. From the feel of it, it is harder than foam or Styrofoam so we think it is wood. There are molds for a cleaning rod and other tools. There are no rips or tears in the cloth and the coloring is intact with no signs of discoloration. Smith & Wesson tools are NOT included with this box. This Anniversary wooden display box will be perfect for your favorite S&W revolver. As with all used items, a light cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
