Description: For sale is a vinyl record by Sister Sledge titled "We Are Family", originally released in 1979 by Cotillion Records, a division of Atlantic Records. On the labels, after the matrices, is the suffix "MO". In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "Atlantic Studios DK"" and "(PR)", followed by the matrix numbers 1-D/2-B, along with "MR delta 24086", indicating that this record was mastered at Atlantic Studios in New York City bu Dennis King, then lacquered at Presswell Records Corporation of Ancora, New Jersey, before early stampers were used to press this record at Monarch Record Manufacturing's pressing plant located in Los Angeles, California. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it away into an archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is on original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Very Good because of corner blunts, edge rubs, a drill hole through the upper right hand corner of the front cover and stress cracks along the spine and the top and bottom seams. The spine has color loss at the corners from these blunts and along the middle edges from rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as Very Good Plus because of superficial sleeve marks and hairlines, but otherwise with shiny and bright surfaces, without any scuffs, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this as Very Good Plus because of occasional low levels of ticking and surface noise, most noticeable during the quietest sections of playback, but masked by the music and not over-powering playback. It plays all the way through without any lock-ups, pops or skips from start to finish. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find one that sounds like this one, especially a Monarch pressing. I have a lot more Disco and Dance records, as well as albums of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
