Sciolari wall light / sconce Chrome Brass & Glass circa 1970s

Description: Sciolari wall light, a constructivist composition in glass & chromed brass, 1970`s ca, Italian. Thoroughly cleaned. Newly rewired & earthed, in full working order & ready to install. This sculptural brutalist wall light is by famous Italian designer Gaetano Sciolari. The geometric design is a variation of Sciolari`s classic "Cubic" theme. This example is made in solid chromed brass & quality glass which create depth & interesting reflections. This wall light has a distinct presence to stand alone. It is ideal for a space such as a stairway, corridor or narrow wall.At the focal point there is a clear glass cube which is suitably finished with a crown silver light bulb. The illuminated glass cube sits on a stepped plinth base of solid chromed brass. The glass cube shade is removable and screws to the lamp holder by a ring. Carries 1 small standard screw (E14) light bulb. Presently fitted with a Crown Silver light bulb as photographed. This type of light bulb is available in most lighting shops or over the internet. Alternatively it is possible to use other (E14) bulbs for a different effect. Size is 220 x 235 x 120 mm. Weight 1.8 kgTo fit this light to the wall there is a metal bracket on the back of the frame. Gaetano Sciolari Biography - While Sciolari Lighting has been around since 1892, it was their most famous offspring Gaetano Sciolari who went on to design for Italian manufacturer Stilnovo in the 1950’s.
