Description: What you are viewing is an original Scarce Antique 1920’s Lithograph Front Davis & Mfg. Co. Valvoline Motor Oil 5 Gallon Gas Can. I have no clue the story about this can, and all I know is that I’ve never seen another, nor can I find another that has ever been offered, or another image of one similar. Lithograph is 100 % to the piece, and even has Valvoline stamped into the on the side pressed into the metal when it was formed. I’ve seen plenty of Shell versions, and Sinclair versions, but this is a first, and suspect they were not made long. Piece is 23” tall, and is a nice displayable size. Piece is in amazing condition, and I’m surprised the lithography still even exists. Piece has most of its original green paint, and must have been stored very well to be this clean.
