Sargent double iron wood nosing or deep hollow plane marked 1-1/8 but is 1-3/16

Description: You are bidding on one Sargent & Company double iron 1-1/8" wood nosing plane as pictured.It is marked with "SARGENT & CO USA" in their banner logo and "63" on the front end, and with "1 1/8" and with what looks like an old pencilled price on the back end.The irons are not marked. Overall length of the plane is about 9-5/16". Width of the cut is actually about 1-3/16". Sargent & Company was a prolific plane and tool manufacturer in New York City and later New Haven, Connecticut, for many years. Please see the book American Wooden Planes 5th Edition for much more information about them. Condition is good but dirty, including rust on the irons. The plane shows wear to the wedges and along some of the 90 degree corners. The plane has a slight bow if you sight down either inner edge. Both irons and both wedges appear to be original to the plane. SHIPPING: 2 pounds, shipped in a padded envelope, shipped USPS Ground Advantage, insurance is included. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. There is lots of information available from eBay that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars? Especially when you ask on an email that is sent through the eBay email system? Please don't ask, the answer is no.INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally other than Canada.
