Description: This is a fantastic album. Santana is at this point such a creative and talented band. Coming off a career boosting performance at Woodstock, the band is blasting into the hierarchy of what will later be called Classic Rock. Side one begins with a gorgeous instrumental written by conga player Michael Carrabello, slides into Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen, which although originally a Fleetwood Mac tune becomes Santana's own. Tito Puente's "Oye Como Va" follows, a Latin rock masterpiece. The side ends with "Incident at Neshabur", a jazz influenced piece based on Hermann Hesse's book "Demian", from which "Abraxas " comes. While side two is an amazing performance by a young band, side one stands on its own, as good an album side as you will find in the genre. This LP has been play tested and is in very good condition. No skips, very clear sound.
