Description: Antique Rookwood Pottery One Handle Urn signed by Frederick Rothenbusch, artist at Rookwood from 1896-1931. Dated 1900. Standard Glaze. Unusual shape. Flowers at the top. Shape #674. An X is on the base. A piece combining history, art, and beauty. DIMENSIONS: 7”H x 5”W. WT=2.05 lbs. CONDITION: Good. No chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. 3 “kiln kisses” or factory bubbles at the top. ROOKWOOD Pottery was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, opening its doors in 1880. The pottery continues to be the most celebrated and collected American pottery. By the time Rookwood merged with Tiffany & Company in 1967, it was too late for the Pottery to recover from its Great Depression losses, and Rookwood Pottery closed its kilns the same year.
