Stern, Stanley Tigerman, and Robert Venturi, among others. Its blend of architecture, fashion, and decorative arts made it arguably the most important American design undertaking of the 1980s. 'FOCUS PERFECTION: ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE' was recently on view at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (2016/2017). This major retrospective featured close to 300 works by the American artist, including masterful compositions and subjects that have given rise to new reflections on questions of gender, race and sexuality.
