Description: VERY RARE QVC Judith Ripka Interchangeable 14K Gold Clad Sterling Necklace w/Cultured Freshwater Pearls, Aventurine, & Green Chalcedony natural Beads.This is a beautiful necklace with all of the high end fashion designers touches with a fraction of the cost. It is unique in that it has four interchangeable stone bead strands and two Cultured Pearl strands plus 14Kt Gold Clad chain links to create multiple styles. This is a wonderful necklace to discover your creativity. This necklace was purchased by me in 2014 but never worn but stored in my climate controlled smoke free master closet. As I am downsizing, I am finding more and more treasures I had forgotten about. I am now retired and downsizing my own personal jewelry collection. All of my items are authentic and were purchased from reputable retailers.This necklace was designed by Judith Ripka when a client from her Madison Avenue store asked her to redesign her strand of Pearls that she had inherited. The result was a necklace that could be worn multiple ways. She offered the impeccable interpretation of that high end couture design from her boutique to QVC customers because of the elegance and sophistication of the piece. It redefines sophistication with a fresh composition of Cultured Freshwater Pearls and textured status links, plus a clever convertible design that maximizes the style potential. The Pearls are part of the original necklace, then more natural stone beads were introduced to create more convertible designs. I purchased the Aventurine Beads (light green-Jade color) and Green Chalcedony Beads (dark green) sets to use with the original design. I am not sure if there were other colors. The necklace can be worn as a long necklace with status links attached, as a short necklace with status links removed, and as a status link bracelet with the toggle bar closure. Please see photos, the links with crown on one side convert to a push lock system to suit every occasion and the status links open and close to adjust the necklace and bracelet to the perfect size you need. This is a rare high end, signature look necklace with details like: blue sapphire cabochons on textured end caps and a large toggle bar closure with angled berge texturing that is seen on Judith’s couture line of jewelry. The Cultured Freshwater Pearls (2 strands) are 8.5mm to 9.5mm. The two strands of Pearls are approximately 14” in length each. The Aventurine (2 strands) are approximately 14” in length each and are 10mm. The Green Chalcedony beads (2 strands) are approximately 14” in length each and 10mm. The bracelet is approximately 8” L but can be made smaller by removing links. The set comes in 3 individual Judith Ripka boxes and pouches. Use your own jewelry to make all kinds of creative necklaces. I saw Judith Ripka many times on QVC and she explained that her mother was a jewelry designer and how she herself got started. It was a humble beginning with her children helping her with jewelry shows. She excelled in making functional but beautiful jewelry in gold, silver, and platinum. At the time I was watching her on QVC, she had two flagship stores on Madison Avenue in New York City. When QVC approached her about carrying a line for working class women in Silver and Diamonique, instead of 18kt Gold, Platinum, and Diamonds in her couture line, she agreed, recalling herself how hard it was to make ends meet and still look glamorous. She sold the same designs in her couture line for QVC in Sterling Silver, 14kt. Gold Clad Sterling Silver, and Diamonique simulated diamonds. She sold her company in 2014 and has since left QVC in 2019 and retired. I fell in love with the style of her jewelry and her story and have many pieces that I wore everyday when I worked and will keep. I have some pieces of her jewelry I never wore that I am selling.
