In early 2009, I made the same wager. So I started looking for other Pokemon investment opportunities. (Since 2009, I have only invested in two DIFFERENT Pokemon series--the 11-Expansion Series of the Black and White offerings (2010-2013) and one other, more recent series, which I will for the time being keep to myself.) Full disclosure. I made a mistake and did not buy any boxes of Dark Explorers, Plasma Storm, Noble Victories or Legendary Treasures--although I did buy more than 100 packs of Legendary Treasures. I should have bought 500 or 1,000. You cannot win them all. Anyway, I am firmly convinced that the Black and White series will be a great investment for the NEXT generation of collectors/investors. That is why my four children will inherit 36 of the 44, including the remaining seven boxes of Plasma Freeze. My mantra for the past 36 years is this: When you think the prices on something are high, they are really low. And when you think prices are low, they are really high. Every time I have bought a so-called bargain, I have regretted it. ALWAYS. So 35 years ago, I stopped buying "bargains." You should stop buying so called bargains too. The tried and true mantra should always be: Buy high, sell higher, NOT buy low, sell high. I could give you hundreds of examples of this, but it would bore you as much as it would bore me.
