Description: POLORON ILLUMINATED FAWN BLOW MOLD 1969 CHRISTMAS RESTORED WITH NEW EARS AND LIGHTS WORKS GREAT Poloron Products debuted this little beauty in its 1969 Christmas catalog on Page 4. She was numbered C101 and named Illuminated Fawn. She is “lifelike and natural” in a seated position looking around with “a winsome facial expression,” according to the catalog description. At 28 inches tall and 27 inches long, she’s dressed for the holidays with a green wreath, red bow and gold bell around her neck. We purchased her at an estate sale to restore. She had no ears. We bought this set of new ears for $70 from the Blow Mold Store online. They are darker because they are new. One ear fell and broke but we repaired it. The ears are permanently attached to the fawn’s head now, but she still can be opened at the neck area (see photos) to replace light bulbs, but this set is new so that shouldn’t be necessary for quite awhile. After removing the old broken lighting, we cleaned and fixed the original frame and installed a new 120 Volt 3-bulb light set ($25) with a toggle switch that comes out near her tail. She shines brilliantly from all angles when lighted but the lights don’t go up into her ears. We’ve provided 24 photos in several different shades and scenes and close-ups so that every possible flaw is shown. For a 55-year-old retro blow mold, we think she has amazing patina and looks great! This heavy, big piece is packed sturdily in an extra thick, new $20 cut-down wardrobe box. Vintage blow molds can and do crack. We do everything to avoid that. We have shipped dozens so we know what it costs and how to ship as safely as possible with premium packing materials. The fawn will be insured and shipped via UPS Ground or available for $30 with local pickup in Topeka, Kansas.
