Description: For sale we have a lovely copy of J.R.R. Tolkien's deluxe work, Poems and Stories, first published as a deluxe edition by George Allen and Unwin in 1980. This is a deluxe limited edition printed on India paper and issued by the publisher in a printed cardboard box. The book shows minimal handling and wear with some very light interior wear to the interior of the box, some slight browning of the interior's box cardboard, but the book overall almost appears unread and like new. Pages are crisp, supple and really show a minimal of handling. This volume, illustrated by noted Tolkien illustrator Pauline Baynes, consists of a number of Tolkien's shorter works including The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Tolkien's own fanciful poems and stories including Leaf by Niggle, Smith of Wooten Major and Farmer Giles of Ham. An exceptionally clean and well-preserved deluxe edition of Tolkien's most memorable shorter fiction and poems, exceptionally clean and well preserved. A wonderful copy!
