The check is dated October 11, 1939, made out to The Dayton Power & Light Co and is completed in Orville hand and signed ''Orville Wright'' in black fountain pen. The check measures 7.75 x 3.25 inches, the signature is bold, and the check is in very fine condition. The display is centered around an iconic colorized photograph of the brothers at Kitty Hawk. Mounted below the check as engraved plaque which reads as follow, The Wright Brothers - Orville Wright August 19, 1871 - January 30, 1948, Aviation pioneer generally credited with inventing, building and flying the world's first successful motor-operated airplane''.
