Description: Part of an estate we purchased with some interesting one-of-a-kind entertainment memorabilia. This is an original 1933 pen, ink and pencil caricature drawing by famed entertainment artist John Decker. It is not a copy or reproduction of any type. There is only one original, and this is it. This was done to promote the play Tattle Tales which opened in June 1933 at the Broadhurst theater in New York and closed after 28 performances. The play starred Frank Fay and Barbara Stanwyck. I believe this original work was to be run in the newspaper to promote the play. The art seems to have been sketched out in pencil first, then done in ink after, with notes below. Condition is very nice, with just enough toning and aging to have a nice honest patina of age. No damage. Unframed, no backing, done on heavy artist paper. Measures 10" by 15" overall. Proper and respectful shipping practices are always observed here. Thanks!
