Description: Old Boy (film, 2003) Awards Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival...Synopsis While preparing to celebrate his daughter's birthday, Oh Dae-su is arrested by the police for public drunkenness. Arriving later, his friend, Joo-hwan, persuades the police to let him go. But, on the way back, Oh Dae-su is kidnapped. He is then sequestered in a room, without knowing by whom or why, with his only link to the outside world being a television, through which he learns that his wife has been murdered, that he is the prime suspect in the murder and that his daughter has been entrusted to adoptive parents. Oh Dae-su passes the time by practicing boxing against walls and trying to dig a tunnel to escape. Released fifteen years later, still without explanation, Oh Dae-su is given a telephone and is contacted by the person who ordered his kidnapping while he is in a restaurant. After devouring a octopus alive, he faints and Mi-do, the head chef, is taken with compassion and takes him into her home. Oh Dae-su tries to rape her but Mi-do pushes him away while admitting that she is also attracted to him. Taunted by the mysterious mastermind behind his kidnapping, who communicates via internet messaging with Mi-do, Oh Dae-su investigates. As he goes around the restaurants, he recognizes the taste of ravioli which he had as his only meal for 15 years. He follows a delivery man and thus finds his place of detention. He tortures the person in charge, Park Cheol-woong, by pulling out his teeth with a hammer, and he learns that the reason given for his detention was that he "talked too much". He then leaves the scene after incapacitating all of Park Cheol-woong's men. Lee Woo-jin, the mastermind, then reveals his identity to Oh Dae-su and gives him five days to find out why he really had him imprisoned. If he succeeds, Lee Woo-jin will commit suicide but if he fails, Mi-do will be killed. Oh Dae-su and Mi-do end up sleeping together. Then Oh Dae-su meets his friend Joo-hwan who tells him that Lee Woo-jin was in the same high school as them. He then remembers catching him having sex with his own sister, Soo-ah, and talking about it just before he left high school, starting a rumor that caused Soo-ah to commit suicide. Lee Woo-jin, who is spying on Joo-hwan to keep himself informed of the findings, kills him after hearing him speak ill of Soo-ah.Distribution: Choi Min-sik (VFB: Philippe Résimont): Oh Dae-soo Yu Ji-tae (VFB: Arnaud Léonard): Lee Woo-jin Kang Hye-jeong (VFB: Maia Baran): E-do Ji Dae-han (VFB: Benoît Van Dorslaer): No Joo-hwan Oh Dal-soo (VFB: Raphaël Anciaux): Park Cheol-woong Kim Byeong-ok: Mr. Han Lee Seung-shin: Yoo Hyung-ja Yun Jin-seo (VFB: Nicolas Dubois): Lee Soo-ah Oh Kwang-rok (VFB: Patrick Donnay): the man who commits suicide-DVD Zone 2- format: 16/9 - 4/3- Languages: French, Korean, see photo- Subtitles: French, see photo- Bonus: yes, see photo- Duration: 2 hours approx.- Fast and carefully protected shipping + Postal trackingWhile preparing to celebrate his daughter's birthday, Oh Dae-su is arrested by the police for public drunkenness.
