NF/VG+ 1970 First US Edition [with review slip]: SUN AND STEEL by Yukio Mishima

Description: Excellent condition, scarce review copy of the US first edition, first printing of Mishima’s SUN AND STEEL, which would have been sent out prior to the actual publication date of Sept. 15th, 1970, (just a few months before Mishima’s death). The Times review was published on August 2nd, so this copy would presumably have been sent out shortly after that, but before the September 15 release date. The book, dust jacket, wrap-around paper band, and review slip are all in VG+ condition. The dust jacket has light foxing visible on the upper front and inside flaps. The jacket rear has a short scratch and a tiny nick on the bottom edge. No writing or marking to the pages. Translated by John Bester.
