Excellent (see description) The pelham bit is usually used with two sets of reins. The top rein works on the corners of the horse's mouth assisting in turning and guiding while the bottom rein acts primarily on the bars, helping with control and collection. The mouthpiece is a slightly curved bar Mullen Mouth. The mullen mouth disperses pressure evenly across the horse's mouth, including the tongue and bars. It is normally considered a mild, gentle mouthpiece. This bit has the shorter Tom Thumb style cheeks that are popular in the show ring. "Centaur" and the size are marked on the mouth. Includes curb hooks and chain. This bit is new with hangtag attached. It was lightly handled in a store so there are some cosmetic marks on the mouthpiece from the curb chain and rings, but nothing that will effect its performance in any way. It is still super bright asnd shiny. A very nice quality bit!
