Here is a very lovely genuine fossil leaf with stem, from the world-famous fossil beds of Fossil Lake, Green River Formation, Wyoming. From the Eocene, 52 million years ago. The leaf species in unidentified. Fossil leaves in nice condition are rare from Fossil Lake, so this is one of the best from this locale. The leaf itself is about 2.85 inches and the stem is about 2.7". The tip of the stem to the tip of the leaf is about 5.4". You can see primary and a few secondary veins. The plate is about 11.4" by 8.8" (varies), and it weighs 4 lbs. 0.1 oz. There a a few thin areas near the edges. Please do not handle it roughly. We will enclose a stand for you. If this is displayed on the stand and not handled roughly, it should last a lifetime. A wonderful addition to any fossil collection. With this type of specimen, a tiny number of particles may come off in shipping, but not enough to hurt the beauty of the piece. We wrap these very carefully and securely.
