They may have minor surface rust due to age and storage, but I don't know considering the rest of the rods are still sealed. I opened a package to show what the rod looks like. The rods are preserved in a white powder like substance and are marked at the top of the handle, view pictures. I oiled the same rod to show you what it looks like without the white substance on it, view last 2 pictures. You will receive one rod still sealed in the original packaging.
