The Maui Tricolor Ixora will mature into a low growing oval shaped shrub at about 2 to 2.5 feet. It has the typical pointed ovoid shaped leaves of the Ixora. The foliage grows dense and tight, and the new growth is a pretty dark red bronze color. Bright multi-shaded blooms, ranging in color from scarlet red to orange with a concentration of light yellow in the center appear in large clusters of hundreds of small florets, beginning in the late spring to early summer and repeating until the nights drop out of the 70's. The florets are small, rounded five petaled single flowers, and each stem generally will have 2 to 3 cluster heads. .
