Description: This vintage Steiff bear is full of relaxed charm - just look at his comfortable slouch! He is a humpback style mohair bear with felt foot pads, five way jointed, with brown and black oversize pupil eyes, horizontally embroidered nose, four embroidered toes per paw, and five toes per foot. He is solidly stuffed with what feels like excelsior, and is approximately an impressive 34 inches tall. While he does have a growler, it is not currently functioning; you can hear the growler rattle or occasionally make a slight noise when shaking the bear around, but no full growl. The dark blue bow tie was likely sewn on by a previous owner, as it is a clip-on. Dating this bear is a challenge as the ear tag was removed some time ago by a previous owner out of concern for a grandchild chewing on it. Despite all the multi-generational love he has received, this bear is in excellent condition: the mohair sheds but no current bald patches, all stitching appears to be in good order, worn but intact nose, somewhat twisted body and slouch when sitting unsupported. Odd mohair patches sewn in on his ankles just above his feet, slightly lighter in color, present and the same size/shape/color on each leg.
